WOOD PELLET MANUFACTURING PLANT OPENS
TriState BioFuels Starts “Pelletizing” Operations
Lemont Furnace, PA is home to a new manufacturer of premium grade wood pellets. A process known in the industry as “pelletizing” transforms low grade logs and sawmill by-products into a clean renewable source of residential heat, superior in value to many fossil fuels.
TriState BioFuels has the capacity to manufacture 55,000 tons of wood pellets annually, and will employ 35 people when at full capacity. Wood pellets will be available to both wholesale and retail customers, providing Uniontown, and surrounding area residents, an affordable alternative to fossil fuels.
